Body Research in Berlin — Embodied Structural Practice
April 23–26, 13:00-18:00 | Berlin, Neukölln, with Conan Amok & Michiyasu Furutani
We are holding a four-day intensive body research session in Berlin, facilitated by Conan Amok and furu, both working from the corporeality of Butoh. Grounded in Conan’s Multi Layered Body approach and furu’s Body Method, we will conduct a structured and concentrated experiment that investigates the body as a field of forces. Through repetition of movements passing through the body, we will dialogue with the axis and make visible the trembling of hidden internal layers through constraint, compression, and friction. Over four days, we will explore density, slowness, interference, and the quiet persistence of thresholds. This is not about mastering a style or learning choreography, but about creating a shared space to examine how the body forms, dissolves, and reorganizes itself in time. The atmosphere will be focused yet open, rigorous yet supportive, with a small group of 6–8 participants to maintain depth and attention. On the final day, we will hold a gentle Open Research Sharing for invited guests; however, even including this sharing, the process remains an unfinished experiment. We warmly invite dancers, performers, movers, and curious bodies of various backgrounds to join us. If you feel resonance with slow processes and structural curiosity, we would love to hear from you.To apply, DM to Conan Amok.
